The natural landscape and environment will be kept untouched. Buildings will be erected on the footprints of current structures, such as barns, existing homes and sheds. The homesteads will be designed in the Cape wine farm vernacular of two hundred years ago, with the creature comforts of 21st century living.

The families who live and work on Boschendal have been given title to their own brand new homes in the neighbouring village of Lanquedoc, in a  landmark social development programme.

Boschendal, with 2240 hectares (5500 acres), offers a unique combination of vineyards, orchards, nature reserves, mountain corridors, rivers and historic homesteads.

The museum and restaurants will continue to play host to over 180 000 visitors a year.
